Dubai Sales Jobs 2026: Showroom, Telesales and Commission Structures

By IshanOctober 24, 2026010 Mins Read

Dubai is a city built on trade. Cars, electronics, furniture, property, insurance, telecom plans, gold and tourism packages are all sold every day to a population that comes from more than 150 countries. That makes sales one of the broadest job categories in the city, and one where an Indian candidate with good communication skills can earn far more than the fixed salary suggests.

Sales jobs also carry a trap. The headline figure in a job advertisement is often a target based total that includes commission, and new joiners sometimes discover that the guaranteed part is small. This guide explains the main types of sales roles in Dubai, who they suit, what employers look for, how commission structures actually work, and what you must confirm in writing before you accept an offer.

Types of Sales Roles in Dubai

  • Showroom sales executive: sells cars, furniture, electronics, mobile phones or home appliances to walk-in customers in a showroom or large store.
  • Retail sales associate: works in malls and brand stores, handling customers, stock and visual displays; usually a lower fixed salary with small incentives.
  • Telesales or inside sales executive: calls leads from an office to sell insurance, credit cards, telecom packages, property or courses; heavily commission driven.
  • Field sales or outdoor sales executive: visits businesses to sell products such as building materials, office supplies, packaging or services; often requires a UAE driving licence.
  • Real estate sales agent: sells or leases property; commission based, with licensing requirements from the Dubai real estate regulator.
  • Sales coordinator: supports the sales team with quotations, orders and follow ups; fixed salary, good entry point for freshers.
  • Key account or B2B sales manager: manages large business customers; higher fixed pay with annual bonuses.

What a Sales Day Looks Like

A showroom executive opens the floor, checks displayed stock and prices, greets customers, understands their needs, explains features, handles objections, closes the sale and completes the paperwork or finance application. Follow up calls to earlier visitors are part of the day. Targets are tracked daily, and team meetings review conversion rates.

A telesales executive works through a list of leads, often 80 to 150 calls a day, using a script that must still sound natural. Calls are recorded for quality. Successful calls lead to appointments or direct sales. The pressure is high, and performance is visible on a board every hour. A field sales executive plans a route, visits clients, collects orders and payments, and reports in the evening.

Eligibility and Skills Employers Want

  • 12th standard for retail and telesales; a degree is preferred for showroom, field and B2B roles
  • Age usually 21 to 40
  • Fluent spoken English; Hindi and Malayalam help with Indian customers, and Arabic is a strong advantage
  • Pleasant personality, patience and confidence in handling objections
  • Basic computer skills for billing systems and CRM software
  • Sales experience in India in the same product category, usually one to three years
  • A UAE driving licence for field sales, or willingness to obtain one

Interviews often include a role play where you sell a product to the interviewer. Prepare by learning the product category, practising a short pitch and rehearsing answers to common objections about price and competition.

Documents Usually Required

  • Passport valid for six months or more
  • Educational certificates, attested if the employer requires it
  • Experience letters and, where possible, proof of past sales performance
  • Updated CV with a photograph
  • Medical fitness certificate when requested
  • Signed offer letter with the salary and commission structure

How Commission Structures Really Work

This is the heart of any sales job, and it is where misunderstandings happen. Commission plans in Dubai usually fall into a few patterns. The table below gives a general picture; details differ widely between companies.

Structure How it works Where it is common Risk for the employee
Fixed salary plus percentage commission Fixed basic each month plus a percentage of sales value above a threshold Showrooms, furniture, electronics Threshold may be set high; check what counts as a sale
Fixed salary plus slab incentive Flat bonus amounts for reaching 80, 100 and 120 percent of target Retail stores, telecom Missing a slab by a small margin means no bonus
Low basic plus high commission Small basic, often AED 1,500 to 2,500, with large commission per sale Insurance, credit cards, property Income collapses in a slow month; high turnover
Commission only with draw Advance paid monthly and recovered from future commissions Real estate brokerage Debt to employer if sales do not come
Fixed salary plus annual bonus Full fixed pay with a yearly bonus based on team results B2B and key account roles Bonus may be discretionary

Figures quoted here for dubai sales jobs are approximate and based on commonly reported pay. Actual offers depend on the employer, location and your experience; always confirm the amount in the written contract or through the first Helpful Links portal.

Ask these questions before signing: What is the basic salary written in the contract? Is commission paid on invoiced sales, delivered sales or collected payments? When is commission paid, and is it clawed back if a customer cancels? Is there a cap on commission? What was the average commission earned by the team in the last six months? A serious employer will answer these without hesitation.

Indicative Pay Ranges

Sales pay varies more than almost any other job category. Indicative monthly totals, including typical commission at average performance, are roughly: retail sales associate AED 2,000 to 3,500 (about ₹46,000 to ₹80,000); telesales executive AED 2,500 to 5,000 (about ₹58,000 to ₹1,15,000); showroom sales executive AED 3,000 to 7,000 (about ₹69,000 to ₹1,61,000); field sales executive AED 3,500 to 7,000 (about ₹80,000 to ₹1,61,000); key account manager AED 7,000 to 15,000 (about ₹1,61,000 to ₹3,45,000). These figures are indicative and vary by employer, product and the individual’s results.

Remember that gratuity and overtime are calculated on the basic salary in your registered contract, not on commission. A role with a basic of AED 2,000 and total earnings of AED 6,000 gives a much smaller end of service benefit than the total suggests.

Recruitment Process

  1. Application through a registered recruitment agent in India or directly to the company’s HR team.
  2. Telephone screening to check English and communication.
  3. Video or in-person interview with the sales manager, often including a role play.
  4. Offer letter stating basic salary, allowances, commission plan and targets.
  5. Visa processing by the employer through the UAE MOHRE; the employer pays visa, medical and ticket costs.
  6. Arrival, medical, Emirates ID registration, contract signing and product training.

Use only agents registered with the Ministry of Labour and Employment in India, and keep copies of the offer letter, the commission plan and the signed contract with a family member at home.

Working Hours and Conditions

Showrooms and retail stores open late and are busiest on evenings and weekends, so sales staff work rotating shifts of eight to nine hours with a weekly day off that is rarely on a Friday or Saturday. Mall stores can operate until midnight during sales seasons. Telesales offices usually work day shifts with targets per hour. Field sales involves long hours on the road in heat, and some companies provide a car and fuel while others pay a transport allowance.

Accommodation is less often provided for sales roles than for labour jobs. Many companies pay a housing allowance and staff share flats. Ask about this clearly, because rent in Dubai is high and a shared room can cost a large part of a junior salary.

Career Growth in Sales

Sales is one of the fastest routes to management in Dubai. A sales executive who consistently meets targets can become a senior executive in one to two years, a team leader or floor manager in three to four years, and a branch or regional sales manager after that. Moving from retail to showroom sales, or from telesales to field sales, usually brings a higher basic salary. Product knowledge, a strong customer network and good records of your own results are the assets that move you up.

Scam Warning Signs for Sales Job Offers

Sales roles are a favourite bait for fraud because they promise high earnings. Watch out for:

  • A request for a visa fee, medical fee or Emirates ID charge. Genuine employers pay these.
  • A training fee or product deposit that you must pay before joining.
  • Guaranteed earnings claims such as AED 10,000 per month with no experience and no targets.
  • Payment requested to a personal UPI ID or an individual’s account, with pressure to pay within hours.
  • A request for your bank OTP, card PIN or password to set up salary payments.
  • No written commission plan, only verbal promises of big incentives.
  • A multi level scheme where your income depends on recruiting other people rather than selling to customers.
  • An offer letter with no licence number, no landline and a free email address.

Verify the company’s trade licence, call its landline and ask for the commission plan in writing. If you have paid money and the recruiter disappears, report it to your bank and the local police.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is commission mentioned in the labour contract?

Usually only the basic salary and allowances appear in the registered contract. Commission is set out in a separate plan or appointment letter. Ask for that plan in writing and keep a copy, since it is your proof if there is a dispute.

Can a company change the commission plan after I join?

Many plans allow the employer to revise targets or rates with notice. Ask how often the plan changes and whether changes apply to sales already made.

Do sales jobs in Dubai require Arabic?

Not usually. English is the working language. Arabic is a strong advantage in property, luxury retail and government facing sales, and it can increase your pay.

Is accommodation provided for sales staff?

Less often than for labour jobs. Many companies pay a housing allowance. Confirm the exact arrangement and the cost of shared accommodation in the area before you accept.

Can freshers get sales jobs in Dubai?

Yes, mainly in retail, telesales and sales coordinator roles. Good English, confidence and product knowledge matter more than experience at this level. Experience is needed for showroom and B2B roles.

Before You Accept

Sales in Dubai rewards people who can communicate well and work under pressure. The earnings can be excellent, but only if you understand the commission plan before you sign and are honest with yourself about whether you can hit the targets in a new market.

Get the basic salary, allowances, commission rules and housing arrangement in writing, verify the employer, use a registered agent, and never pay for a visa. With those steps, a sales job can be one of the best paid starts available to an Indian worker in Dubai.
